My story. Part 2 – Hunger for the Lord

After the encounter in Heaven during my honeymoon, (if you didn’t read part one, click here to read it), I became so drawn to the things of God, particularly prayer. I began to pray more and to seek the Lord through His word. I also began to follow specific men of God online. I bought books on ministry and on the leadings of God. Two books that transformed my life are “How you can be led by the Spirit of God” by Kenneth E. Hagin and “Good Morning, Holy Spirit” by Benny Hinn. I marveled at how people had developed personal relationships with the Holy Spirit. I then began to take church seriously and began to enjoy sermons in church. Many people do not like the preaching aspect of church services and prefer prophecies and ministrations. I however developed a love for the word of God. I couldn’t wait to hear many tapes of the man of God in my church, who is my father in the Lord, Apostle Joseph Kwadwo Yeboah. I could listen to his sermons over and over again. The things of God became so interesting, I couldn’t get enough.

Shortly after, I was led by the holy spirit to fast more often because I began to sense strongly that I needed to separate myself and to give myself to the word of God, prayer and fasting. At this point, every night when I would go to sleep, I would have dreams where I would see many occurrences and happenings in the lives of people around me. I also began to see myself preach the gospel in churches and on the streets. I was trying to figure out the things of God on my own. I continued to desire God, more and more.

One day God led me to do a 40-day fast, from 6am to 6pm, meaning I wasn’t eating anything from 6am to 6pm, for forty days in the year 2018. I had not done it before but I was determined to do it. My life changed during this fast. I had many profound dreams of political figures, family members and God’s calling upon my life. I read the Bible, came up with my own prayer points and fasted. On the 28th day of the fast I had a dream and saw the rapture. Click this link to read about it. The separation, prayers and fasting brought a lot of light into my life and ministry. I saw many men of God in my dreams and some spoke to me about ministry, life and the mandate God had for me.

During one of my prayer sessions, God gave me a prophetic message and told me to go and see my Pastor about all the encounters I was having so he could mentor me in the things of the Lord. God needed me at this point to learn from His servant.God needed me to be accountable to a spiritual authority. I prayed the day before I went to meet with God’s servant and God gave me prophetic word ( Word of Knowledge ) to take with me as confirmation He had sent me. When I met with my father in the Lord and told him what God had asked me to tell him, he marveled. God can give you a prophetic word that can be confirmed in order for people to believe indeed He has sent you. Cornelius in Acts Chapter 10 was given a lot of details about Peter including his full name, where he stayed and who he was staying with, in order for people to believe Cornelius had indeed heard from God, and it was so with me.

Acts 10:3-8
3 About [c]the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!”
4 And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?”
So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. 5 Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. 6 He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea. He[d] will tell you what you must do.” 7 And when the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier from among those who waited on him continually. 8 So when he had explained all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

After this season I subjected my visions, dreams and encounters to my spiritual authority, understudied and served under him for about 4 years, until in 2021 when God asked that I be commissioned to start a branch of the church in Oyarifa. I will be speaking more about how everything came together by the leadings of God. When you become saved God gives you a strong appetite for Him, and it is for you to nurture this appetite or in other terms, ensure the “fire never quenches. Many people expect this feeling to last forever but the truth is, it takes discipline and effort. Till date, I make a conscious effort to always seek God like I sought for Him when I met Him in 2017. My prayer for you is that you do not lose your appetite for the Lord. You can add in the comment section below some of the things you began to do when you met Jesus.
