God Of Ideas – Part 8: Build with Boldness

In Part Seven,I spoke about God being a builder, and it is important that we do not let the visions and ideas God gives us remain in our notebooks and phone notes. We should seek to build into flesh what God has revealed in the spirit through our dreams and thoughts.

In this part, I want to speak about one key ingredient you need to bring your God-given ideas into manifestation. You need boldness. The Bible says in Proverbs 28:1b, “But the righteous are bold as a lion.” Boldness is an attribute you need when it comes to executing your God-given ideas.

Once you receive the revelation of the vision, pray for clarity and timing and let God give you the timeline. The next thing you need is real boldness to build what God has revealed to you. When God spoke to Noah in Genesis 6 and instructed him to build an ark, many people, I believe, would have wondered what he was doing, especially when nothing indicated a pending weather change that would validate what he was building. Noah was building in faith, believing what God had said to him and boldly defending what he was building.

Boldness is the confidence to take action, express ideas, or make decisions despite risks, fear, or potential rejection. You must be ready for the physical environment not to support what you are building, but once you trust God, go ahead and build without fear. God might tell you to do something in a season when, naturally, people might think it is wrong or that it is not the right time, but if you heard correctly, the results will justify your decision to heed the instruction.

For instance, Isaac sowed in a season of famine, and he reaped a hundredfold when he did sow. We see this in Genesis 26:1-3, which reads, “there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar. Then the Lord appeared to him and said: “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I shall tell you. Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father”. Isaac was planning to skip town, but God warned him against doing so and instead told him to dwell in the land that was struck with famine. When he dwelt there and sowed, he saw results that were contrary to the environment.

In Genesis 26: 12-13, the Bible says “then Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper and continued prospering until he became very prosperous”. You can see him sowing in boldness and God blessing him. You need boldness to trust the direction and idea of the Lord and once you’ve obeyed and built, you will see the results.

The second reason you need to be bold in building the ideas the Lord gives you is to withstand opposition against the ideas. Once the idea is God-given, expect opposition from all quarters and even from trusted voices in your life. Be sure that you have heard clearly and are led by God concerning the idea.

Finally, stand firm and act boldly to bring the idea into manifestation. When David came to the camp of the Israelites and realised they were being challenged by Goliath and that everyone was afraid, he stood in boldness, believing he could take Goliath down. However, his own siblings discouraged him from bringing that idea into manifestation and from stepping forward to confront Goliath. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 17:28, “now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.” We see David’s own brother try to discourage him from challenging Goliath.

Opposition will sometimes arise both physically and spiritually but you must be bold in confronting it in prayer while you build out the God-given idea. When the Jews decided to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, we see a lot of opposition as well against them but they rose up to confront the opposition in Nehemiah 4. See the opposition in Nehemiah 4:1- 2 But it so happened, when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews. 2 And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they fortify themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they complete it in a day? Will they revive the stones from the heaps of rubbish—stones that are burned?” Opposition will definitely rise up when you set out to build your God-given idea. Do not fear but have boldness in the Lord. He will be the force behind you to make that idea come alive.

God can sometimes let you implement an idea in a season when, naturally, it might look wrong, but its impact will prove that you heard God rightly. If you believe you’ve truly heard God, build with boldness and trust that God will confirm the word with which He commissioned you. Boldness is an attribute you can pray about. Pray fervently into it. When Peter and John were arrested in Acts 4 and they were released, they were warned not to preach about Jesus Christ. They did not cower, but instead, they prayed for more boldness to preach the gospel. We read this in Acts 4:29-30 which says, “now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” Boldness can help you deal with opposition and fear. Pray for it and go out and build that great idea God has given to you.
