The God Of Ideas : Part 1

In early 2024, I woke up from a deep sleep and heard an audible voice say, “God of Ideas.” I did not know what it meant and so I prayed into it; and God told me that He is the God of Ideas. I believe it is an attribute He gave me – a name by which to call Him – because of how He has shown Himself in my life and given me ideas that have created jobs, generated revenue, and inspired others to start similar businesses. As you know, I am a technology entrepreneur, and over the past few years, I have received many ideas, product names, business models, and concepts directly through dreams, visions, sermons, and Bible scriptures. I believe the “God of Ideas” gave me these concepts, ideas and inspirations to become a problem solver, creating both impact and wealth in the process. I will be writing a five-part series titled The God of Ideas, so you can learn from biblical examples and ny personal experiences, and discover how to partner with the God of Ideas to positively impact your society. I believe many people have heard the Holy Spirit whisper a company idea, concept note etc but you decided not to pay heed to it because it did not make sense or it felt like it was your own mind. You do not know where to start from or what to do.

Let us start from the beginning. In Genesis 1:1 the Bible says In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The Bible began by showing us that God created two habitations one in heaven and the other on the earth. I believe that before God created, He first thought about or imagined it, and then spoke it into being. David, the psalmist and a man after God’s heart, also attributed God’s works to His thoughts in Psalm 92:5 – “O Lord, how great are Your works! Your thoughts are very deep.” Before things come into being, they first begin as ideas in our minds, then we build or execute them. I also believe God first conceived creation in His thoughts before bringing it to life. In Genesis 1, we see God as the ultimate architect — designing and constructing the heavens and the earth. There are other Bible verses that prove to us that God thinks. In Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope and also Isaiah 55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” With this you know that God thinks.

When you look throughout the Bible, you realise that God gave men ideas of things to create for very important purposes in their generation. When God gave them these ideas, He was precise to the last detail; this is what God of Ideas is about. If God could give men of old ideas, as recorded in Scripture, then because He is “the same yesterday, today, and forever,” He will most certainly give you ideas to solve a major problem in your generation.

I will start by talking about a man called Noah. In Genesis 6:13-17 we read as follows:

“13 And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make [g]rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. 15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred [h]cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. 16 You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks. 17 And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die.”

Now let us look carefully at this scripture. So God is about to destroy the world, favours Noah, and gives him details of an ark that he will have to build to survive the flood. God is very specific about the kind of material he should use. The gopher wood is believed to have been very rare, suitable, and durable in nature, possibly cypress, cedar, or another water-resistant wood. God is also specific about the measurements of the ark.

In the same way today, God can appear to you and give you an idea that is rare, able to stand the test of time, and bring preservation and impact to your life and the entire human race. By the way, the Bible does not record Noah being a carpenter when he encounters the “God of Ideas”, but somehow, by the coming of the idea, he knew how to put the ark together according to God’s specification.

Another man who encountered the God of Ideas is Moses. I will give two instances where God gave him ideas to do something that had never been seen or heard of before. In Exodus 35, God appeared to Moses and instructed him to build the Ark of the Covenant, giving him intricate and specific details. He said in verse 9, “According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.” The Ark of the Covenant was to represent God’s presence with the Israelites on their journey through the wilderness and was later kept in the Temple. God also gave Moses a fashion design idea for the garments the priests were to wear. The garments included the ephod, the breastplate of judgment, the robe, the tunic, the sash, the turban, and the linen undergarments. You can read about them in detail in Exodus 28. See below how intricate the Ark of the Covenant and the priestly garments look.

If God could be this detailed, then He can give you a unique idea for a fashion business, a technology concept, or even an artificial intelligence innovation. And He is so gracious that He will be detailed about every stage from the start to the execution.

I have had encounters where God was very detailed about an idea. A major example is this blog. I once had a dream where Jesus told me to start a blog called “gloriousblog.com.” In the dream, He said that no one owned the domain name and that I should get it immediately when I woke up.

I have had dreams where God gave me an idea, with full details, including the name and business model. In one dream, He mentioned the name of a clothing line to me. He gave me the specific colour He wanted the garments to be sewn in and even revealed the targeted audience. He subsequently gave me another dream where he told me the type of person to hire to make this vision a success.

The question now is how do you receive such ideas from God. He gives ideas by His own will. Noah did not ask for an ark. God told him to build an ark.

Secondly you can ask Him for an idea to solve a problem. As the Bible says in Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” I believe once you ask, He will give it to you.

In the next parts of this series, I will go into detail about how to receive divine ideas from God, through dreams, through His Word, and by divine inspiration.

I will leave you with this thought: Do you know that Larry Page of Google got the idea of Google through a clear dream. See below a video of him sharing the very vivid dream he had about the Google idea or you can read this article about it:
