I saw the Gate of Heaven and the Book of Life

I love prayer and it is one of the things I really love to do in my walk with God. Prayer is talking to God. I even enjoy it the more when I pray and God begins to reveal things to me in a flash, in my spirit or through the hearing of His voice.

Occasionally, I host a prayer line on Zoom where I lead believers to pray about their destinies and find solutions to their pressing matters. One night, I was preparing in my prayer closet before the prayer line that I was going to lead. Whiles speaking in tongues and preparing, I fell into a trance. A trance can be likened to one having a dream whilst awake; it is a state in which one is awake but his or her natural senses are suspended. Peter had a similar encounter in Acts 10:10-12. 

“Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.”

In the trance, I saw myself standing in front of a very big gate, probably the biggest I have ever seen. There was an angel who had opened a very big book and was standing in front of the gate. He opened the book and began to skim through it as if he was looking for my name in it. He checked the pages a few times and saw something that I believe was my name. However, He looked at me and without talking to me, I knew within my spirit that He said my time was not up.  

In the realms of the spirit, you perceive and know things supernaturally without the opening of the mouth to speak. I could discern the angel saw my name in the Book of Life but my time to enter the glorious gate was not yet up so immediately, a force brought me back into my body on the earth. It was such a glorious encounter. 

What I saw was an angel with the Book of Life. Jesus spoke a lot about this book. I will post a few scriptures about it. Oh Glory to God! Such an encounter! Heaven is a really glorious place and I pray we all make it there in Jesus name. Amen!

Luke 10:20

“Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Revelation 3:5

“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.”

Revelation 21:27

But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

There is a book in heaven that houses the names of people who live in righteousness and walk in the will of God. God took me to heaven to show me this book and the gate that leads to heaven, His throne. This book is constantly being updated and one’s name can either be kept or blotted out. Those whose names are not recorded in this book are people who sin, tell lies and walk in unrighteousness. 

Finally, by the mercy of God, you can be privileged to know whether your name is written in this book or not whiles you are still here on the earth. Apostle Paul knew the names of people in this book and in Philippians 4:3, he said boldly that Clement and his fellow workers have their names written in the Book of Life. 

“And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.” 

Paul could tell, by discernment, whose name was in the Book of Life. May God give you grace so your name be in this glorious book. Amen!
